[su_dropcap style=”simple” size=”10″]A[/su_dropcap] Medical Laboratory Scientist has called on the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) to consider increasing the duration of validity of it’s Practicing Licence beyond one year.
According to him, the licence should be renewable triennially ( that is once every three years ) stressing, that this will go a long way to help Medical Laboratory Scientists especially the many unemployed Medical Laboratory Scientists in the Labour market.
The Scientist who took to twitter to vent his concern wondered how a licence will expire on Dec 31st after renewal on Nov 19.
In a post he tagged MLSCN, Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN) and the Young Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum (YMLSF), the Scientist wrote:
Our dear council should consider increasing the duration of validity of the licence. The licence should in the interest of unemployed scientist be renewable after 3 years.
How can licence expire on Dec 31st after renewal on Nov 19?— Sylvester Mex (@MexSylvester) March 24, 2021
Speculations are rife that there are some professions whose Practice Licence is renewable once every three years.
In a related development, another Scientist wants the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) to consider making the renewal and printing of Practicing Licence electronical as according to him “the whole system of manual delivery of licence cert is negligible”
my issue is let the renewal and printing of the license card be electrically… the whole system of manual delivery of license cert is negligible… please copy @nmanigeria @mdcan_ng
