The National leadership of the Young Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum (YMLSF) has congratulated Dr. Uche Odionyenma on his elevation to the position of Director, Department of Planning, Research and Statistics Ondo State Ministry of Health, the first-ever Medical Laboratory Scientist in such capacity.
The leadership congratulated him recently when they paid him a courtesy visit at his office. Speaking during the visit, the President of the YMLSF, MLS. Emmanuel Khoda Nkumah noted that the purpose of the visit was to congratulate Dr. Uche Odionyenma on his elevation, appreciate him for his continual support for the forum as well as the integral role he played in influencing the employment of Young Medical Laboratory Scientists into the Ondo State Civil Service.
In the same vein, the President of the Forum MLS. Emmanuel Khoda Nkumah also pleaded with Dr. Uche Odionyenma to withdraw legal litigations he instituted against the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN) and opt for an out-of-court settlement stressing that this will go a long way in fostering peace in the profession.
On his part, Dr. Uche who was a one-time National Vice President 1 of AMLSN appreciated the Executives for the visit and their interest to foster peace, unity, and progress within the profession. He stated clearly that he has moved on and had put the past behind him, even as he expressed his genuine interest and readiness to make more contributions to the progress of the profession.
As for the court cases, he said his interest was not to witch hunt the profession or anyone but for the court to give a proper interpretation of the electoral clauses in the Association Constitution/ bylaws to avoid future misinterpretations and controversies.
Incidentally, the visit coincided with Dr. Uche’s birthday, so the Executives celebrated with him alongside the special presence of a past President of AMLSN, Dr. Manasseh Rubainu who coincidentally was on a visit too.
The YMLSF entourage had the National President MLS Emmanuel Khoda Nkumah; National Vice President South West, MLS Alao Adetunji; National Secretary MLS Jegede Onos Suleiman; Program Director MLS Isioma Uwagbai as well as MLS Adeoye Desmond.
