AMLSN Lagos to mark BLS Day 2021 with a virtual Lecture

As part of activities to commemorate this year’s International Biomedical Science Day (BLS Day), the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN), Lagos State branch has concluded plans to hold a virtual lecture.

The Topics of the virtual lecture are entitled:

1. Role, Responsibility and Potential of Biomedical Scientists in Conquering the COVID- 19 Pandemic: a Review and Roadmap by Dr T.Y. Raheem (Former AMLSN National President and Head of Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory, NIMR)

2. Combating and Containing COVID 19 Pandemic in Nigeria- A Stakeholder Assessment of the Imperatives by Professor Kolawole Oyedeji, (MLS Department , CMUL Idi- Araba Lagos, Dean, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Ajayi Crowther University Oyo)

International Federation of Biomedical Laboratory Science established BLS Day in 1996 at the IFBLS World Congress in Oslo, Norway to promote and celebrate the key role of Biomedical Laboratory personnel in diagnostic and preventive health care systems.

The Day is marked every 15th of April every year and this year’s theme is “Testing Times – Biomedical Laboratory Scientists’ Role in the Covid-19 Pandemic“.
