The National President of the Young Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum (YMLSF), Emmanuel Khoda Nkumah has inaugurated YMLSF National & States whistleblowing and Anti-quackery Committees ( AKA MLS Submarines).
The epoch-making event which was held virtually had the National President of the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN), Prof. James Damen, the immediate past National Publicity Secretary Dr. Casmir Ifeanyi, among others in attendance
Speaking at the inauguration, AMLSN National President Prof. James Damen advised members of the Committee to ensure they carry out the responsibility espoused on them with all amount of fairness as well as ensure that they gather only information that is correct, reliable, and verifiable. He cautioned members should not bring politics into the discharge of their duties.
On his part, the immediate past National Publicity Secretary, AMLSN Dr. Casmir Ifeanyi applauded the current administration of YMLSF for coming up with such an initiative even as he emphasized that members of the Committee be trained on the nitty-gritty of their job.
The 10-Man Committee, among other things, is to spy and gather information on laboratory facilities training quacks, using quacks to carry out medical laboratory tests as well as those paying qualified Medical Laboratory Scientists peanuts.
Committees are to report their findings to the YMLSF National which they, in turn, will transmit the same to the appropriate quarters for the appropriate action.
