The Christmas season has come with a strong message of reflection, reconciliation, and renewed hope for the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN), as Dr. Casmir Ifeanyi, delivered a heartfelt Christmas message to members across the country.
In his address dated Thursday, 25th December 2025, Dr. Ifeanyi described Christmas as a season of hope, sacrifice, reconciliation, and renewal, urging Medical Laboratory Scientists to embrace the deeper values the season represents. He acknowledged that the past months have been particularly difficult for the Association, marked by crises that tested trust, unity, and institutional stability.
According to him, since 25th June 2024, AMLSN has gone through one of the most trying periods in its history, with emotional, professional, and institutional consequences. He noted that reputations were bruised, relationships strained, and the bond of brotherhood severely tested.
Despite these challenges, he commended the spirit of sacrifice demonstrated by the 15th National Executive Officers, who relinquished their positions in the interest of peace, stability, and the preservation of the profession.
Dr. Ifeanyi described this act as rare servant leadership, emphasizing that it reflected responsibility and selflessness rather than personal ambition. He stressed that such sacrifice laid the foundation for a fragile but hopeful turning point for the Association.
He further highlighted the ongoing transition process being facilitated by the Honourable Minister of State for Health, through the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) under the Acting Registrar/CEO. According to him, this process presents a solemn opportunity for healing, reset, and rebirth, but only if members collectively demonstrate wisdom, restraint, and shared responsibility.
The DCI used the occasion to appeal to all Medical Laboratory Scientists and AMLSN members to consciously reject hate, bitterness, and recrimination, and instead embrace peace, tolerance, and unity. He reminded members that institutions outlive individuals and that the true strength of AMLSN lies not in factions, but in collective commitment to professionalism, service, and humanity.
As part of his Christmas prayer, Dr. Ifeanyi expressed hope that the season would soften hardened hearts, heal wounded spirits, and restore broken trust. He called on members to recommit to the core values of the profession which are integrity, compassion, excellence, and selfless service while looking forward to a New Year marked by stability, progress, and unity.
He concluded by wishing all members and their families a peaceful, reflective, and grace-filled Christmas, and a New Year crowned with collective triumph.
