The First Lady of Bayelsa State, Dr. Gloria Diri, has commended the Dean of the Faculty of Medical Laboratory Science (MLS), Federal University Otuoke, Professor Eni-yimini Solomon Agoro, for his outstanding contributions to academia, following the launch of his books.
Dr. Diri made the remarks during the unveiling of the books: “The Science of Character” and “Fundamentals of Forensic Biochemistry.” She described Professor Agoro as a passionate researcher and a distinguished scholar who has made significant strides in his field. She also acknowledged his leadership role as a former Chairman of the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria, Bayelsa State Branch.
Reflecting on her time at the Federal Medical Centre Yenagoa, where both she and the author once worked, the First Lady spoke nostalgically about his dedication, professionalism, and commitment to service.
The book launch, held at Ayalla Hotel Annex on April 26, 2026, attracted a wide array of dignitaries and notable figures from across the academic and professional community.
The event was preceded by a thanksgiving service at Living Faith Church, where the author expressed gratitude to God for his elevation to the rank of Professor of Chemical Pathology and Forensic Toxicology.
Among dignitaries in attendance at the book launch were Professor Teddy Charles Adias, immediate past Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Otuoke; Professor Martin Mie-Ebi Wankasi, Dean of the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Niger Delta University; leadership of the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria, Bayelsa State Branch; as well as members of the academia, professionals, and well-wishers.
